Connecting Recovery Community in Wasatch County

On December 13, 2018, in the beautiful Heber Valley, USARA and and some amazing community partners held an appreciation dinner for Wasatch County’s recovery community: Wasatch Family Clinic, DCFS (Department of Child and Family Services), the Drug Court team, and law enforcement professionals, community leaders, ecclesiastical representatives, and individuals in long-term recovery. This was an amazing event where the key players involved in the process of early recovery could collaborate and be acknowledged for the important work they do.  The first speaker was the Jail Commander, Cory Davis; he moved the audience when he read letters from inmates expressing how there life is changing because of services provided but more importantly because they are being treated like a human being instead of a number. The feeling of community filled the room when the audience heard Chase and Terra Wright’s heart felt story of recovery. Jon Post was also one of the speakers who shared his personal story of hope and inspiration. He is a Drug Court graduate who now works in recovery. There was 2 musical numbers ‘I’m Moving On’ by Rascal Flatts and ‘Cradle in Bethlehem’ by Nat King Cole.  Performed by Rebecka Roberts and her family Cordell Hull (Father) and ShaLynne Moore (Daughter)
