About Telephone Recovery Support: USARA provides Telephone Recovery Support (TRS), an innovative peer-to-peer recovery support service. TRS offers weekly telephone calls to people in recovery from alcohol and/or drug addiction to “check in” and see how they’re doing. Calls are made by trained USARA volunteers that are also in recovery themselves. TRS helps reduce relapse and enhances the recovery experience for recoverees as well as the volunteer making the calls.
USARA is Utah’s award-winning addiction recovery community organization. Our mission is to celebrate, advocate, support, and educate on behalf of drug and/or alcohol addiction recovery and Utah’s recovery community.
Job description: TRS Volunteers will call individuals in recovery that have signed up to receive a weekly support call. Calls are made at USARA’s Recovery Community Center in Salt Lake City. TRS Volunteer will receive job skills training as a call center professional, and provide valuable peer support to recoverees who are provided support and encouragement as well as information about community resources.
