Participants will be learn how to:

  • Take Action on Policy Initiatives – Review a list of bills we’re monitoring in 2016 and get involved.
  • Smash the Stigma of Addiction – Help us smash stigma by shining light on the positive faces and voices of those who recover.
  • Confront the Opioid Crisis – Utah is 5th in the nation for opiate-related overdose deaths. The expanded availability of prescription painkillers and heroin has created a public health crisis that demands attention from the government and communities nationwide.
  • Improve Access to Addiction Care & Support in Utah – We are committed to educating consumers about their rights and opportunities under health care reforms like the “parity” law and the Affordable Care Act.
  • Criminal Justice Reform – We support drug courts, sentencing that promotes treatment and reintegration, and the redemptive possibility of earning a clean criminal record.
