2016 Rally for Addiction and Mental Health Recovery: Critical Issues & Legislative Bills

Rally 2014

Join USARA, NAMI Utah and community supporters for the 2016 RALLY FOR RECOVERY! Join USARA, NAMI, and Utah’s Recovery Community as we raise awareness and promote understanding of mental health and substance use disorders, while we CELEBRATE the people who recover! While recovery is gaining momentum in Utah, we still have a lot of work to do.  Our critical issues include:

  •  Support Resolution C.R. 4 – Declaring Drug Overdose Deaths as a Public Health Emergency.
  • Suicide Prevention and Intervention is critical to saving lives and families.
  • Substance Use and Mental Health treatment and recovery support services are seriously underfunded: Long wait lists are barriers to getting help now!
  • De-criminalization of people who should be in treatment, not jail or prison. We applaud all efforts for the Justice Reinvestment Initiative.

USARA is watching these 2016 Utah Legislative Bills that will have an impact on individuals, families and our Utah communities.  We applaud our Utah Legislators who are committed to making an impact through establishing good policy and decisions about funding that will help the thousands of Utahns who are facing addiction and working on long-term recovery:
